Development and trend of global printing ink

I. the situation of the world ink Market

At present, the global ink industry continues to grow, large international companies have used joint ventures, cooperation, acquisitions and other means of international expansion, many international companies in the domestic market has declined, but in China, Asia-Pacific development. In 2003, the annual sales of global inks exceeded 1 billion US dollars: Japan Ink/Solar Chemistry 4.4 billion US dollars, Japan Fulint Ink 1.4 billion US dollars, Japan Toyo Ink 1 billion US dollars; Germany Basf 762 million US dollars, Japan Sakata Inx 742 million US dollars, Switzerland Sikbye 725 million US dollars. Yuan, $454 million in Tokyo printing ink, $380 million in Huber Group, $380 million in Hickwell, and $360 million in Inctec Inc.

In order to occupy a larger market share, large international ink companies have developed a lot of new ink varieties in recent years: sheet paper process ink, thermosetting web offset ink, industrial inkjet products (continuous inkjet CIJ, on-demand dripping DOD), conductive ink (with factories in Beijing), paper towel flexographic ink, newspaper flexographic ink (feel) Light resin plate, alcohol-soluble gravure inks, anhydrous soybean oil offset (environmental protection) inks and other new inks. The development of ink has the following driving forces:

1. Technological advances, new materials, new processes to promote the development of ink, such as the rapid development of jet ink in recent years;

2. The promotion of the market, people's new demand, or fierce market competition promote the progress of inks, domestic more shows for the same type, the same grade of product price competition;

3. Promoted by the environmental protection regulations, there is no perfect regulations on inks in China, but there are restrictions on heavy metal content, residual solvents and other VOC limit standards in food packaging and other related aspects. It can be foreseen that the corresponding regulations will be enacted soon.

Two, domestic ink production and market situation

China's total output of inks accounted for 5-6% of the world's inks, ranking fourth, ranking behind the United States, Japan, Germany, and increasing at an annual rate of more than l0%. According to statistics, China's printing ink consumption in 2001 was 220,000 tons, 2002 was 242,100 tons, 2003 was 274,600 tons: output in 2001 was 205,000 tons, 2002 was 220,000 tons, 2003 was 244,600 tons. In China, offset printing ink accounted for the largest share of the market, accounting for 40-45%, the annual growth rate was nearly 6%, and flexible printing ink was 5% per year. Growth, gravure printing ink maintained a steady growth, screen printing ink has a growth trend, alcohol-soluble ink and water-based ink demand will grow rapidly.

An interesting feature of the distribution of China's printing industry and ink production enterprises is that all manufacturers consciously or unconsciously take the road of specialization. The top 10 ink manufacturers are basically offset ink manufacturers, or gravure ink manufacturers, and some of them have developed in recent years with their individual types of ink as the main products. Ink factories such as Zhongshan Yeshi Ink Co., Ltd. (Gravure Ink) and Zhejiang Yongzhe Chemical Co., Ltd. (Gravure Ink) have basically taken the road of specialization and market promotion. In recent years, the domestic packaging and printing base has developed rapidly in various places, such as Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Guangdong, the Pearl River Delta, Chaoshan and so on. Over the past few years, ink in the packaging and printing industry led by the rapid development, and has a more obvious feature is the introduction of a complete set of printing equipment and ink, followed by ink localization, with the printing equipment localization. Guangdong's ink enterprises have also developed rapidly in recent years. Guangdong Zhaoqing Tianlong Ink Chemical Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Shenni Ink Co., Ltd., Guangdong Meining Ink Group Co., Ltd., Zhongshan Yeshi Ink Co., Ltd., Shantou Five-Star Ink Factory, Jiangmen Dongyang Ink Co., Ltd., Zhuhai Letong Ink Coatings Co., Ltd., especially the oil developed in Chaoshan and Shantou in the late 1990s There are dozens of ink manufacturers, and there are several characteristics of the domestic ink companies which yield more than 2000t.:
1. Multinational companies and their joint ventures (about 10 or less) have occupied the domestic high-end market, such as Dongyang, anti-China, DIC, Gao Shi, the main products are offset ink-plastic composite ink, printing ink and so on; its product quality is good, printing speed is high, suitable for high-grade printing machine printing packaging and printing.

And high-speed printing of newspapers. Its total ink output is nearly 10 - 120 thousand T.

2. A large number of private enterprises (about 1,000 or more) occupied the low-end market, the main products are carton ink (water-based low-grade mainly), Gravure plastic ink, screen printing ink and so on. Its product quality has a certain guarantee, mostly used in home-made medium and low-grade printing press to print the packaging and printing of the general public needs. Such as cartons, food bags, shopping bags and so on. Its annual total ink output is difficult to statistics, it is estimated that there are 80-100,000 tons of good private ink enterprises, not complete, specializing in their own characteristics.

3. State-owned enterprises, which can produce all kinds of ink, mainly traditional products, have a certain competitiveness in mid-range products. At present, with the restructuring of enterprises, these two types of enterprises have become more and more downhill, leaving an annual total output of about 40-50,000 tons.
